BPS-Statistics Soppeng Regency, in collaboration with the local government, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Compilation of the District in Figures Publication for Soppeng Regency 2024 at the Grand Saota Hotel, Soppeng. The event aimed to improve the quality and quantity of data that will be used in the District in Figures publication, a key reference for regional planning and development.
The FGD was attended by 33 participants, including 25 representatives from regional government organizations (OPD) designated as data producers, and 8 BPS staff from Soppeng Regency. Participants discussed data alignment, shared information, and strengthened statistical literacy within the local government, in accordance with the One Data Indonesia principles outlined in Presidential Regulation No. 39 of 2019.
The speakers for the event, Mr. Ilham, SE., MM., and Mr. M. Reza Perdana, S.Tr.Stat., presented various important topics related to the publication process. These included statistical business processes, data collection and analysis methodologies, and the evaluation of the 2024 Sectoral Statistical Evaluation (EPSS).
The District in Figures publication is deemed crucial as it provides a detailed overview of social, economic, and infrastructural conditions at the district level. Accurate and relevant data from this publication will assist the local government in crafting more effective and targeted policies. "This activity is essential to harmonize data between the local government and BPS, ensuring that the District in Figures publication accurately reflects the conditions of the districts in Soppeng," said Mr. Ilham during his presentation.
Furthermore, this discussion served as a platform to enhance statistical literacy among OPD data producers, enabling them to better understand the importance of good data governance and the application of metadata according to the One Data Indonesia standards. This approach is expected to improve transparency and accountability, while also strengthening the local government's capacity to use data for evidence-based policy-making.
The FGD proceeded smoothly and orderly. With strong collaboration between BPS, the local government, and relevant agencies, the District in Figures publication for Soppeng Regency 2024 is expected to deliver high-quality data, becoming a crucial reference for regional development.
