The Soppeng Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS) held an evaluation activity for 2024 Village Potential Data Collection (Podes) officers on May 21 2024 at the Soppeng Regency BPS office. This event was attended by 17 participants consisting of 10 PCL partners, 4 organic PML people, 2 Subject Matter people and 1 Head of District BPS.
This evaluation aims to monitor the progress of data collection which has reached 2/3 of its implementation period, identify obstacles faced, and formulate effective solutions to expedite the data collection process. The activity began with a Monitoring session on the Identification of Local Environmental Units (SLS), which was then continued with confirmation regarding Podes data collection at the village and sub-district levels.
In addition, this evaluation also includes reconciling data regarding nearby infrastructure for the education, health and economic sectors, ensuring that the data collected is accurate and complete. This is in line with the objectives of the 2024 Podes Data Collection which includes providing data to support various regional development needs, starting from planning activities for the 2026 Economic Census to updating statistical working area maps.
This evaluation is part of the government's efforts to accelerate village development and reduce the gap between villages and cities, in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages and the third point of the Nawa Cita program. Through the 2024 Podes Data Collection, it is hoped that the potential and needs of each village can be identified more accurately, so that development planning can be carried out more precisely on target.
With this evaluation, Soppeng Regency BPS hopes to ensure that every data collection step goes according to plan, so that the final results can support independent and sustainable village development, as well as strengthen economic linkages between villages and cities.
