Portrait of the 2020 Population Census of Soppeng Regency Towards One Indonesian Population Data

In order to realize the ideals of an Advanced Indonesia, BPS endeavors to complete the mandate to carry out the 2020 Population Census (SP2020) with various challenges in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. With the permission of God Almighty accompanied by the hard work of all parties, the SP2020 field data collection has been completed with various governance adjustments at every stage and still adheres to the big goals of SP2020. Even though SP2020 was implemented in the midst of a pandemic, there were several innovations implemented, one of which was the use of a combination method which was applied for the first time in the history of the population census in Indonesia. The combination method is the use of population administration data (adminduk) from the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Ditjen Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) as the SP2020 basic data. This is designed and implemented as an effort to realize One Indonesian Population Data. One step closer to the One Indonesian Population Data, BPS together with the Directorate General of Dukcapil released the results of the SP2020. The journey of implementation and results of SP2020 are presented briefly in the booklet Portrait of the 2020 Population Census in Soppeng Regency Towards One Indonesian Population Data. This booklet presents an aggregate of basic population data of Soppeng Regency up to the sub-district and village/kelurahan levels. The basic data coverage of the SP2020 results is the total population by gender, administrative area, along with derived parameters such as population density, sex ratio, and population growth rate. These data are expected to meet the needs of the latest population data for planning, monitoring, evaluation of development programs and various research references. This booklet was made possible thanks to the cooperation and participation of various parties. To all those who have contributed, we express our appreciation and thanks. Hopefully this booklet is useful and can meet the needs of many parties for various interests and constructive suggestions are expected to improve the implementation of the population census in the future.
